Below are 7 of the top cards from the Topps Heritage 2020 set. We have also included some extra baseball memorabilia items from 2020.
One of Topps’ most successful specialty sets is its Heritage series. Where it prints baseball cards in classic styles from previous decades.
The 2020 Topps Heritage baseball set mimics the 1971 Topps design, which features a black border on the card’s front. The top of the card’s black border is enlarged and lists the team’s name. With the player’s name and position listed underneath.
The top left of the card’s player photo contains the Topps Heritage logo. While a replica player autograph is listed near the bottom of the player’s photo.
The rear of the card is usually arrayed in a horizontal layout. With a classic Topps green background and white inserts listing player stats and bio information.
Continuing with the 1971 style, several Rookie Star cards featuring 2 players on a single card are also included in this set. Along with various parallel, autograph, and relic cards.
7. Luis Robert Nickname Rookie Card (SSP) Card #512

A super-variation (SSP) card due to its low population ratio of approximately 1 card per 2,400 hobby packs. The #512 Luis Robert Nickname card is a great rookie card for collectors to target.
It has the same design as the base version. Except that the top left of the card lists “la pantera” instead of Robert’s name.
The rear of the card lists “Nickname” on the back to identify the card with the specific variation set.
La pantera is the Spanish word for panther. A moniker that Robert received from teammates Avisail Garcia and Yoan Moncada, who were both impressed by his speed.
6. Luis Robert Error Rookie Card (SSP) #512

One of the most interesting variation cards in the 2020 Topps Heritage baseball set is the Error series. Where Topps intentionally included an error on the card.
Historically, unintentional error cards have been high areas of interest for collectors. This is because they were often caught and corrected by major card companies. This made the original “error” card extremely rare and valuable.
With a population ratio of approximately 1 card per 8,000 hobby packs. The Error cards in the 2020 Topps Heritage set are a great find for any collector.
The #512 Luis Robert Error Rookie card has the same design as the base version. Except that it intentionally omits the team’s name from the top left of the card’s front. And it also lists “Error” on the back (as can be seen above) to identify the card with the specific variation set.
5. Mike Trout Clubhouse Collection Autograph Relic Card #CCAR-MT

The Mike Trout Clubhouse Collection Autograph Relic card implements a significantly different frontal design from the base set and many of the other variation cards.
The card contains a horizontal layout with a black background, interspersed with red, orange, and yellow borders.
The top left of the card contains a small picture of Trout with his signature and name underneath. While the bottom right displays the jersey patch.
The Clubhouse Collection logo is displayed on the top right of the card. The rear of the card congratulates the card owner for receiving an autographed relic card from 2020 Topps Heritage.
4. Fernando Tatis Jr. All-Star Rookie Real One Autograph #ROA-FT

Another great card option featuring one of the biggest young stars of the game. The Fernando Tatis Jr. Real One Autograph card displays the same basic design as the 2020 Topps Heritage set.
However, it displays an actual autograph where the replica autograph is normally located. It also lists “Topps Certified Autograph Issue” at the bottom of the card’s front.
On the left side of the card, near the bottom, a golden trophy graphic is listed with the text “Topps 2019 All-Star Rookie.”
3. Aaron Judge Chrome Gold Refractor Card #THC-395

With his incredible 2022 season captivating the baseball world, Aaron Judge cards are seeing a significant uptick in value.
The 2020 Topps Heritage Chrome Gold version, with only 5 copies, is a very rare and valuable card. It contains the same design as the 2020 Topps Heritage Set, but with a gold border.
It is important to note that this card contains a horizontal frontal layout, as some cards in this series occasionally do, just as they did in the original 1971 Topps set.
2. Shohei Ohtani Throwback (SSP) Card #433

The Throwback card is the rarest SSP variation card in the 2020 Topps Heritage set. With a population ratio of approximately 1 card per 11,500 hobby packs.
The card contains the same design as the base card.
But displays a different action photo of the player wearing a commemorative vintage jersey of the team he currently plays for.
The #433 Shohei Ohtani card pictures him in an at-bat. Unlike the base version which shows him posing with the bat as below.
1. Hank Aaron/Chipper Jones/Austin Riley Real One Triple Autograph Card #ROTA-AJR

Probably the single best card of the entire 2020 Topps Heritage set. And an absolute goldmine of a card for a Braves fan. The #ROTA-AJR Real One Triple Autograph card is one of 5 cards printed in this specific series.
It contains the autographs of two legendary Braves players, Hank Aaron and Chipper Jones. As well as Austin Riley.
The front of the card is laid out in a horizontal format, with a picture of each player’s head and signature taking up one-third of the card’s front.
The rear of the card congratulates the card owner for receiving a Triple Autograph card from the 2020 Topps Heritage set.
Extra Memorabilia
2020 also has plenty of good MLB memorabilia items, much of them available on sportsmemorabilia.com.
Several different autographed baseballs commemorating the 2020 World Series are available, featuring many different Los Angeles Dodgers players.
One signed by Mookie Betts is available for $439.99, while another signed by Walker Buehler is available for $279.99.
Another baseball autographed by several members of the 2020 Dodgers. Including Clayton Kershaw, Will Smith, Cody Bellinger, AJ Pollock, and manager Dave Roberts, retails for $1,999.99.
A superb option for Yankees fans would be a 2020 Hall of Fame commemorative baseball. Autographed by Derek Jeter, selling for $1,386.39.
A Louisville Slugger bat, also autographed by Jeter, can be purchased for $1,745.59.
When I was just starting out with my card collection, I had lots of questions about authenticity, trading, and card conditions. But with not that much information available online, I felt quite alone in my queries. Some questions still haven’t been answered to this day.
