Among his other notable achievements was the 1992 Daytona 500, which he won, as well as claiming first place victory in the 1991 Coca-Cola 600.
Over his career, he took part in 191 races, a very impressive number considering that his career was just 9 years long – due to his unfortunate death in 1993.
His legacy has clearly lived on, though, and he was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998.

There have been hundreds of thousands of sports cards manufactured over the years, for countless different sports and sports stars.
For a star like Davey Allison, this is no different, and there have been many varieties made about him over the years – dating back as far as 1988.
This was just three years after his first race, the 1985 Talladega 500, so he clearly made an impressive mark very quickly.
1988 Maxx #5 Davey Allison – $2.55
This is possibly the earliest card of Davey Allison, and is part of the Maxx Race Cards brand. Given its age, you would think that it would be quite rare and expensive, but not so!
Buying this card from a seller will only cost you around $2.55.
On the back of the card, there are details about his home city and his birthdate.
Below is a table of statistics, noting how many races he had won each year since 1985, as well as how much money he had won per year too.
Apparently, 30 races had got him a large $395,865! After that, there is also some information about his racer uncle, Donnie Allison. Clearly it ran in the family!
1990 Maxx Glossy #28 Davey Allison – $5.47
Slightly more expensive is this 1990 Davey Allison card, from the Maxx Glossy range.
This is likely to cost you about $5.47 if you buy it online or in person from a sports card seller.
On the back of the card, you’ll find the same sort of information. A statistics table offers a more updated set of information than the previously mentioned card, giving his stats up to 1989.
By the end of that year, he had taken part in 86 races.
1993 Action Packed 24K Gold #50G Davey Allison – $22.99
By far the most expensive of all Davey Allison sports cards, this 1993 piece from the Action Packed series will cost you about $22.99 from most sellers.
The back for the card doesn’t have a statistics table as detailed as the others, but this is probably because he’d now done so many races that they couldn’t be fitted onto it.
Below the general stats is a large paragraph about his career successes.
1998 Maxx 10th Anniversary #27 – $0.48
One of the cheaper Davey Allison cards is this 10th anniversary one, released 10 years after his first sports card.
It will cost you just under half a dollar and has a paragraph on the back that mentions his father, NASCAR legend Bobby Allison.
2012 Press Pass Fanfare Diamond #81 Davey Allison – $15.53
Despite this being a recent card, it will probably cost you as much as $15.53. This is the second most expensive of all Davey Allison sports cards.
It’s not to be confused with the non-Diamond Press Pass card from the same year, which will cost you just $1.48 instead.
