Here are what we think are 5 of the most valuable Darryl Strawberry cards. We’ve listed them in date order, not value. So keep scrolling as there are definitely a few surprises on the list.

1983 Topps Traded #108T

This is one of Darryl Strawberry’s most iconic cards, and it’s also one of his most valuable. The 1983 Topps Traded set was released in the middle of Strawberry’s rookie season, and this card captures him in all his glory.

The card is a good collectors piece because it is the first Topps cards to feature Strawberry.

It has the usual Topps design which features a red line at the top. And also incorporates a blue and white circle on the bottom right which has a close up profile picture of his face.

The main image on the card, is an ‘in action’ shot that  shows Strawberry’s signature swing.

Darryl Strawberry Topps Traded

As you are likely aware, Topps Traded cards are generally considered more valuable and this card is no exception.

Based on historical data and current Ebay list prices, expect to pay between $350 to $500 for a high quality slabbed example.

1984 Fleer Rookie #599

This is another key rookie card for Darryl Strawberry, and it’s also well collected. The 1984 Fleer Update set was released near the end of the season, making this one of the last cards to feature Strawberry as a rookie.

Fleer Rookie Strawberry #599

The card is valuable because it captures Strawberry near the beginning of his career, and it’s also one of the most visually stunning cards of the era. The blue and white color scheme is truly eye-catching, and it makes this card a real standout in any collection.

Expect to pay from $35 all the way up to $400 for a PSA 10

Darryl Strawberry 1984 Topps Tiffany #182

This one is a beauty and could give your savings quite a boost if you happen to be sitting on a mint version.

A high end Tiffany with their shorter production runs added to the high price one of these cards fetched in 2021.

It was considered a perfect example and we suspect was the missing piece in someones collection hence the high price achieved.

And the price was……. $862 via an Ebay auction.

There are more affordable examples out there though but it just shows what some cards can sell for if the quality is right and they are the missing piece to someones collection.

At the time of writing there are some high quality examples currently listed for $800 on Ebay.

1984 O-Pee-Chee Darryl Strawberry RC #182

No, it’s not a typing error. Here is another version of the card above. If you aren’t familiar with O-Pee-Chee then we’ll explain. These cards are sold by O-Pee-Chee who hold the Topps rights to be sell their cards in Canada.

There are a few differences on the cards but the main one is the fact that they are printed in French on the rear.

If you’re lucky enough to own one of these cards, you could be sitting on a small fortune.

Expect to pay anywhere from $10 for ungraded, up to $700 for a perfect example.

1986 Topps Tiffany #80

This is one of Strawberry’s more affordable cards if you don’t mind a low grade or ungraded example. But you should still expect to pay big bucks for a PSA 10.

The 1986 Topps Tiffany set was a high-end release that featured better quality cards than the standard Topps set.

The Tiffany Strawberry card is considered valuable because it’s one of the best quality cards from this era. And it’s also more rare as the Tiffany sets were only produced in smaller quantities. This makes high quality examples so much harder to find today.

Expect to pay from $20 for an ungraded Darryl Strawberry card. You can ratchet that up to $550 for a PSA 10.

Darryl Strawberry The Celebrity

Darryl Strawberry was one of the most gifted baseball players of his generation. A powerful slugger with a rocket arm, he helped the New York Mets win the World Series in 1986 and was one of the key members of their championship team.

However, off the field, Strawberry struggled with addiction and personal problems. He was suspended several times for violating the league’s substance abuse policy and was also in trouble off the field having had a few interactions with the law.

Despite his personal problems, Darryl Strawberry was still one of the most popular players in baseball.

As you can see from the list above, his cards are still highly sought after by collectors.

Conclusion

Daryl Strawberry baseball cards are a fun way to remember a great player.

His list of cards is longer than my bat, so there are certainly plenty to choose from if you want to build a collection.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just a casual collector, make sure to pay special attention if you see any of the cards above going for a good price.

If you buy it right, it could be a very good long term investment that you won’t regret
